Char-Wills German Shepherd Rescue invites you to join our dedicated team of volunteers who assist in every aspect of operating the non-profit rescue founded in 1994. We are a breed-specific rescue nestled in the picturesque mountains of Schuylkill County, PA. Our growing group of volunteers & foster homes is dedicated to finding responsible & loving homes for German Shepherds in need. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Barking Attendants
Provide exercise and enrichment to dogs. Assist visitors during meet & greets, and answer general questions. Transport dogs to our rescue facility. Provide in-home foster for dogs recovering from surgery.
Administration
Contact veterinary & personal references and conduct phone interviews with applicants. Create & distribute quarterly Newsletters.
Outreach
Represent Char-Wills Rescue in the community at various events, promote the rescue & answer questions.
Land & Facilities
Help with upkeep including brush clean-up, facility improvement projects, repairs and overall ground maintenance.

Fill out a Volunteer Application. Once your information is processed, a volunteer will be in contact to discuss the next steps. All positions require basic orientation and some require additional training. Volunteer hours can be flexible, one day per week or once a month – the possibilities are endless to make a positive difference in the lives of Char-Wills German Shepherd Rescue Dogs. Volunteers and staff work together to create a schedule that works best.
